Background
Egzamin-bron.pl prepares candidates for the theory part of Poland’s state firearms licence exam — a test taken before a police board, where out of 20 questions you may get only two wrong, and a single attempt costs 865 zł (around £170). The police publish an open bank of roughly 200 questions, but with no answers and no explanations.
The product idea: instead of yet another free quiz — a fully fledged audio course you listen to like a podcast. Lectures read by a professional voice artist, and after every wrong answer a spoken explanation of exactly where the trap was.
The challenge: build the whole thing — content, recordings, sales, a student dashboard — without off-the-shelf LMS platforms, none of which could handle such an unusual learning mechanic. From concept to live sales took a matter of days.
The solution
We built a dedicated, lightweight platform: a static frontend with no heavy frameworks, plus a minimalist backend on our own server.
What we delivered:
- Over 3.5 hours of studio-quality narration — 13 lectures and spoken walkthroughs of all 200 exam questions, with a production process of our own design that lets us update individual fragments within hours whenever the law changes
- “Karaoke” synchronisation — the lecture text reveals itself on screen word by word, perfectly in step with the narrator’s voice
- A student dashboard with passwordless sign-in (one-time email links), a spaced-repetition system (missed questions come back after 1, 3 and 7 days) and a “your hardest questions” mode
- Content protection — audio available to signed-in students only, and answers marked server-side (the answer key never reaches the browser)
- A public mock exam — a full simulation: 20 questions, a 30-minute timer, a two-mistake limit — doubling as a marketing tool that gathers leads
- Online sales — integration with PayU (BLIK and instant bank transfers — the payment methods Polish customers expect), with payment notifications and a fallback reconciliation job that books transactions even if webhooks fail
- The back office: an admin panel (sales, users, question-difficulty statistics), an SEO-ready blog, complete schema.org, sitemap and IndexNow
- Legal compliance — terms of sale for digital content and a privacy policy; an architecture that relies on strictly necessary cookies only, so the site needs no cookie banner
The result
- A complete, self-service digital product: the customer buys, pays and is learning with the narrator within seconds — with no human involvement on the seller’s side
- Hours of professional audio with full control over the production process — a change in the law reaches the course within hours, not weeks of waiting for a studio
- Static content pages plus a light API — instant loading and healthy Core Web Vitals without any elaborate caching
- Subject matter verified at the source: every answer written from the text of the relevant acts and regulations, each with its legal reference attached
